|
CAMPING: Primitive camping
opens on Friday, March 12th at 2:00pm. Camper trailers are
welcome; however, no hookups are available. We now have limited
electrical hookups for a modest fee. Reservations are required for the
electrical hookups. Contact Texas Alline at 903/545-2252. We have
extra wide gates and a wide road to accommodate your trailer. Primitive
tent sites are also available. There is no charge to park
a trailer or pitch a tent.
MATCH INFO:
We will shoot on Saturday, March 13th and Sunday, March 14th. Sign-in starts at 9:00am. The mandatory shooter's meeting & opening
ceremony is at 9:30am. We start shooting at 9:40am. Justa Kitchen
will serve hot coffee before the shoot. We also
shoot the Monday after the monthly match. See you on Monday, February 15th
at 9:00am.
AFTER THE MATCH: Lunch is available
at Justa Kitchen after the match. After lunch, the Outlaws present award ribbons and
then draw for door prizes. Score sheets are available after awards.
The range is usually "hot" (dah, we are in Texas) until almost-dark if
you want to stay and practice or shoot the Long Range shoot.
DRESS CODE:
Cowboy attire and
Cowgirl attire is
encouraged during the main match. However, t-shirts and shorts are just
fine from June through September. During this shoot, coconut bras and
grass skirts are acceptable attire for men and women!
Bring
EXTRA AMMO for warm-ups, side shoot, team
shoot, speed stage, long range, shotgun stage, and practice. You never know what we
will find to shoot at after the main match, so bring that extra ammo. Past
shoot outs have involved piñatas, pumpkins, Christmas ornaments, light bulbs,
and other just plain weird stuff! Our most popular side match is our new
Long Range. Come on out and check it out. |

Monthly
Long Range Shoot:
After each monthly Cowboy
shoot is completed and lunch has been enjoyed and the winning cowboys
recognized, cowboys and gals retire to long range to engage in a little
“Precision Rifle”. Three matches are conducted:
7-Card
Stud Poker Match:
This match is fired with your cowboy gun (or
something reasonably close) at a specially designed poker target. Seven shots
are fired off-hand and the best 5 shots are scored as a hand of poker. There is
one winner in this match, the cowboy or gal with the best poker hand. A
specially designed hat pin of 4 aces is awarded the winner.
Critters:
This match is fired off-hand with a
.22 Rimfire Rifle or your cowboy rifle at 6 automatically resetting “critters”.
Scoring is by hits with a shoot-off breaking ties. The top 3 shooters in each
class are recognized as winners. Each winner receives a custom hat pin.
Precision
Rifle - Long Range: This
match if usually fired from the shooting tables at a distance of 200 yards.
Occasionally we will stand up on our hind legs and shoot off-hand. Scoring is
by hits with a shoot-off breaking ties. The top 3 shooters in each class and
category are recognized with a specially designed “feather” hat pin.
Two classes are recognized,
Cowboy and Ladies. Four categories are recognized, Single Shot Rifle (any
propellant), Buffalo Rifle (black powder, or substitute, only), Lever Action Big
Bore, and Scoped Rifle. Any rifle capable of shooting the 200 yards with a cast
lead bullet is allowed.
Note: Be sure to bring extra ammo. It would be a shame to
loose a match because you didn’t have the lead to send down range.
FRIDAY NIGHT EVENT
Outlaws
Eat-Out in Public:
WHEN: Friday Night of the shoot weekend about 6:30pm
RANGE DWELLERS: If you are staying at the range, meet at the
main house at 6:00
RSVP: Call TX Alline at 903-545-2252
SATURDAY NIGHT EVENTS
Outlaw
Cookout: We usually have our traditional Cowboy
Cookout in the Outlaw trailer park at the range on Saturday night about 6:00ish.
We fire-up our
Texas-size
grille so that you can roast marshmallows, hot dogs, steaks, or almost
whatever. HOWEVER, it is too hot right now in East Texas - we will
start up the cook-outs again in the fall.
Poker:
The Lady Luck Poker Gang plays some friendly poker at the Outlaw Trailer Trash Gang
Hangout on Saturday night. The games are known to be visited by the likes
of Colt Faro, Jake Cutter, Gunslinger, Forest Shadow, and Scrounger. The gang meets
after dinner on Saturday night at the bunkhouse.
COWBOY CHURCH

On Sunday, the Outlaws celebrate our faith at Caney
Creek Cowboy Church. We meet at 8:15am at the range by Justa
Kitchen. Our services our lead by our cowboy preachers,
Prissy Pearlene
and Dogie Jones.
Come on out for fellowship, song, and stories of faith. |
