With the cost of postage, paper, ink, etc, constantly rising, the Oakwood Outlaws will soon offer an option to receive your newsletter by “E” mail if you so choose. This will be a cost saving for the= club, and the money saved can be put into range improvements.
If you would like to receive the newsletter by “E” mail, please fill out the enclosed form verifying and up-da= ting your “E” mail address, and indicate your wishes regarding this matter. Please fill out the f= orm even if you want a paper copy sent to your home address each month. Just check the box indicating you = want a paper copy. Your “ER= 21; mail address will enable the club to send you more timely information regar= ding special club activities and health issues of our members. If you do not hav= e an “E” mail address, just write none in the appropriate place. This is not a forced change. You do have a choice.
With the cost of brass rising steadily, being able to retrieve your own brass after the match is becoming more and more important. I know many of you= like to pick up all the brass that is laying on the ground to add to your “collection”, but, the owners of that brass should have an oppo= rtunity to retrieve it before it is “confiscated”. After the match, and after the Ran= ge Officer has declared the range SAFE, you may go forward and retrieve YOUR O= WN brass. If you wish to pick up= all the brass, put it on the loading or unloading table for that stage. Everyone will then be able to pick= their own brass from the table. After everyone has had lunch, and after the awards have been distributed, then any brass that has not been claimed is “fair game”. While you are pi= cking up brass, pick up the spent shotgun shells also, and put them in the trash = buckets if you do not want them. That= will keep the range looking nice and save me a lot of work.
Every month, we have several new shooters with us participating in a REAL match for the first time. Club members have been extremely h= elpful in getting these new shooters pointed in the right direction in regards to SAFETY and the proper way to shoot a match. The loaning of firearms and ammuni= tion to those who have not yet acquired the proper equipment is to be commended= . Just remember, don’t try to = teach new shooters too much the first time. Our prime consideration should be safety and how to choose the proper shooting accessories. How to = shoot fast comes after how to shoot safely.
The enrollment form for Jailbreak “09” is = now in the web site. www.oakwoodoutlaws.org . We are already receiving paid registrations for the shoot and electrical hookups. If you want an electrical hook up = let Tx. Alline know, and to insure your spot, pay for it in advance. There are a few left. The club will also be entering ear= ly enrollments in a special drawing for a gun again this year. February 1st will be th= e cut off date. Monies received from these early registrations will allow us to have operating capitol and enabl= e us contract for goods and services earlier, thus insuring a quality match.
This years match theme will be the Civil War, or “THE WAR OF NO= TRHERN AGRESSION”. A special S= unday side match will have the North competing against the South. Yankees have been invited. = &nb= sp; = Justa Hand
