  The SASS® Texas State Championship

The Oakwood Outlaws is a SASS-affiliated cowboy action shooting club located in Oakwood, Texas.  We were founded in August 2001 by Justa Hand and TX Alline. 

We are very proud to announce that SASS has selected our club to host the 2008 SASS Texas State Championship!!!  Yea Haw  We be hav'n a JAIL BREAK yet again!! 

   We will shoot a 4-stage Plainsman event on Thursday, May 1, 2008 at 10:00am.

   We will shoot the Long Range side match on Friday after the main match at the Long Range stage.

   On Thursday, The Fort Houston Rangers re-enactment group from Palestine Texas will perform at 6:45p.  Did you know that Fort Houston is the old name for Palestine, Texas???  We be learn'in folk here!  Thank-you Rangers for being at our little 'ole Texas shootout every year!

  The Oakwood Outlaws are proud to present Joe Bowman, the Straight Shooter for a show on Friday at 6:30p - 7:00p.

  We will have a Cowgirl AND Cowboy CAN-CAN dance competition on Friday, May 2nd.  Meet at the Saloon at 8:15pm.  The competition will start when the band takes a break.  Special awards will be presented at the banquet to the first place finisher for Cowgirl Can-Can and Cowboy Can-Can.  Judging will be based on your dance and costume.   This event is open to shooters and non-shooters.

   We will have a "live" band playing for your listening / dancing pleasure at the Saloon on Friday, May 2nd at 7:00 - 10:00pm.  Yea Haw!

   The Saturday Night Banquet will be BYOB this year.  Bring your spirits, fixings, etc.  Ice chests are welcome.

  The Chili Cook-Off will be held on Friday, May 2nd at Justa Kitchen on the range.  Make at least 1 gallon of chili.  Meet at 5:45pm to setup and judging will start about 6:00pm.  An award will be presented for first-place at the banquet.  This event is open to shooters and non-shooters! 

   Also, we will have our 2nd annual 1800's Swim Suit Competition and 3rd annual Poker Competition on Thursday, May 1st.  These events are open to shooters and non-shooters!  Check the schedule for times.
